Please tell me how to print labels with ordinary inkjet printer?

August 5th, 2013 2 comments

I want to use B/W inkjet printer to print labels which contain some personal information in the place of expensive label printers. Is it possible to use a paper roll of 3 inch width on an ink jet printer? Any ink jet printer is available with auto cutter? Suggest any suitable software.

Nope, inkjets need to use the a4 sheets of labels.
The rolls are also designed to go through thermal printers and the inks in an inkjet will run and fail to adhere to their surface.

If you MUST use rolls of labels, buy a thermal printer to do it with, citizen make good ones.

What is the best inkjet printer for me?

July 9th, 2013 3 comments

I have a terrible, cheap inkjet printer at present (Epson Stylus SX115) and want to replace it.

The problems with the present one are:

– terrible paper feed (never works without fiddling, often gets stuck)
– poor print quality
– expensive cartridges
– lack of information (losing track of cartridges and not telling you how to fix it).

The features I want are the following:

– Good print quality on A4 in colour and b/w
– Effective paper feed that works first time
– Ability to print on slightly thicker paper or thin card
– A good quality scanner

I would like to pay more for the printer (up to £120) and less on the cartridges.

If I pay more, I want to pay for the features listed above, rather than for fancy hi-tech features like wireless operation, mobile compatibility etc. It’s a jungle out there with so many models. Advice, please!

I live in the UK so it needs to be a model that’s available here….thanks.

I have canon ink cartridges , it has combination package features one PG-40 Shade Black Ink Package and one CL- 41 Shade Ink Package. It gives wonderful, long-lasting images with top quality. I think this is best for you.

How do I setup my print server – I have a small office with 4 computers and 2 printers?

April 23rd, 2013 1 comment

I would like to setup my print server for my small office. I have 4 computers (on D-Link wireless router) with additional laptop users that come and go and I want everyone to be able to use BOTH printers; a Sharp Multifunction Laser & Canon Inkjet. I bought a EUSSO 2 USB/1 Serial print server and connected it to my wireless router as well as the printers, but can’t figure it out!!! I’m running Windows XP Professional on all of the computers. Thanks for your help!

Many printers are not supported by most print servers, especially multi-function. You are better off connecting each of them to one of the pcs and setting them up as shared printers.

Can a color inkjet printer print on normal printing paper?

Can the Canon PIXMA iP2600 Color Inkjet Printer print documents on normal printing paper?

Yes, a color inkjet should be able to print just fine on normal printing paper, it won’t look as crisp as if it was printed with a laser printer but it will print just fine

How to solve a printer error?

April 20th, 2013 4 comments

My girlfriend has a Canon iP4600 inkjet printer which gives out the following error message when any form of printing is attempted:

A printer error has occurred.
Turn the printer off and unplug the power cord of the printer from the power supply.
Then contact the service center.

The two lights on the front of the printer are continuously alternately flashing (green and orange). Does anyone have any idea what the possible cause of this error might be?

I have attempted the old ‘turn it off and on’ trick, uninstalling and reinstalling the device and still nothing.

Her OS is Windows 7 64-bit!

does it give you an error code as well?
If the code is 6A80 then it usually means that the print head is either locked or has actually failed.
Open the top and the cartridge access and see if you can get the cradle to move toward you.
If it doesn’t move then have a look inside and see if something is perhaps jammed against the slide, if there is then remove it, or at least move it out of the way.
If it does move OK then remove all the cartridges, put them on a carrier bag in case they leak.
You need to clean the contacts on the cartridges and inside the machine as well, use a damp cloth or paper towel, be careful not to get ink on your fingers, it will stain.
Then turn off the machine and unplug it for at least one and a half minutes.
Plug it back it in and power on, wait for the "insert cartridges" message
Insert the cartridges and check to see if the problem is still there, if it is then it often means the print head has failed and needs to be replaced, sadly this often costs more to replace than buying a printer.

How can I network my vista laptop with a printer connected to my Mac?

April 17th, 2013 1 comment

I have a hp Pavillion dv2000 series laptop with wireless and I have a Canon inkjet iP2500 printer connected to my Mac upstairs. I have already tried to see the printer from my computer, but it doesn’t appear to see it. I think i have to turn on sharing from the mac somehow? Please help

go to system prefs then network then (your network method) then advanced then "wins then for the net bios name type whatever you wnt the mac to be called then for the workgroup type your workgroup name. (to find this open up the laptop and right click my computer and select properties then go to "computer name" and see what the workgroup name is.

after you have done that, go to sysprefs (on the mac) and select "Sharing" enable file and printer sharing then click options and enable "AFP" and "SMB"

then go and reboot both machines.

now go to the laptop and go to "my network places" you should see your mac and when you double click it it will ask for a username/password. type the one on your mac and now you should see your printer.

you may need to install drivers for it on the laptop tho.

any questions contact me through my website http://jpfilms.site88.net

Can you use silver gelatin paper in an inkjet printer?

April 15th, 2013 4 comments

Hello everyone. I was wondering could you use silver gelatin paper like RC or fiber based darkroom paper in an inkjet printer? RC paper has pretty much the same texture of inket glossy paper. If you put the rc or fiber paper through the developing process, let the print dry then couldn’t you print on the paper? Please let me know what you guys think.

Yes.

Although there is no printable coating on the paper, you can still physically print on it with an inkjet.

Also there will not be any ICC profiles or driver settings from the manufacturer, so you will need to figure it out on your own.

Edit:
You can pretty much print on anything that will fit through your printer. I have printed on paper, plastic, canvas, and even metal through my inkjet printer.

The biggest hurdle you will face is determining exactly what your printer settings will need to be to print. I suggest starting with an educated guess and changing your settings as needed. Make sure you write them down, and even better, save them so that you can refer to the best settings in the future.

What printer to use for transparency sheets for screen printers?

April 14th, 2013 1 comment

Im a new screen printer & I need helpp 🙂 .. I bought a canon mp250 inkjet printer to print out my transparency sheets but the black on the trasparency paper isnt dark enough. Is there a certain type of printer I can use to get my transparency’s to come out darker? That isnt so high?

You need to get away from inkjets and go to dry toner. Call a local Copier Company and see if you can lease or rent a used one.
